The author has now written two books of poetry - the first entitled Jim's Poems, the second entitled Insight, Sensitivity, and Understanding. Writing poetry is a hobby which he finds both mind-stimulating and enjoyable. Favorite poets include Robert Frost (1874-1963), Thomas Moore (1779-1852), E. Pauline Johnson (1862-1913), and Robert Service (1874-1958). The author's poems rotate around fond memories of family and friends, life review issues, and some of his ordinary life experiences. In some cases his poems reveal a touch of humor while others raise more sober questions. The books are interspersed with colored pencil drawings and photographs by the author and his son Peter.
