À propos du livre
A man finds room in the few square inches of the face for the traits of all his ancestors; for the expression of all his history, and his wants.
– Ralph Waldo Emerson, Behavior
Façade is a collection of a few of the faces I’ve been fortunate enough to meet over the course of my career. All of the images were attempts to capture the characters within. None of them are successful at that idea. Instead, collectively, they illustrate the fact that no single image can describe the complex, sometimes strange, often unique amalgamation that is a person. In these 49 square inches, I review the history and the wants of my career to date, knowing that the expression falls short of the essence but also that the ancestry is as important as the ambition.
