This book takes the reader through the process of building a custom 1911 style pistol. It shares the observations of the author and his experiences (both good and bad) so that the reader can learn from the challenges he experienced.
Huard Harral has been an avid shooter since he was 10 years old. As a child he spent his summers with his grandfather shooting on their south Texas farm at rabbits and his evening during the school year shooting with his father at the range. His first gun was a bolt action 22 LR. As he grew his experience grew as well. He has competed, at summer camps – both Boy Scout and Private – in archery. During his first year at The Citadel in Charleston, SC he joined the South Carolina Army National Guard and went into the Infantry. He spent the next 12 years serving in the Army while graduating and learning how to educate and train. He moved from college into the workforce and became a trainer spending time developing and training across all levels of organizations. Two deployments later he left the corporate world and entered law enforcement where he spent time as a patrol officer, a SWAT officer and a trainer. He is a firearms instructor, an NRA instructor and an ROTC instructor.
