Foreword
Book Three takes us to Agra which is in the state of Uttar Pradesh. In the scorching 40+°C May heat, the magnificent Taj cools your senses with its grandeur and everlasting beauty. The complex built in 1653 and finished in marble, is perhaps India's most fascinating and beautiful monument.
The Agra Fort noted for its Pearl Mosque, the Dīwān-i-'Ām and Dīwān-i-Khās (halls of public and private audience), Jahāngīr's Palace, Khās Mahal, Shīsh Mahal (mirrored palace), and the Musamman Burj is a typical example of Mughal architecture, effectively showing how the North Indian style of fort construction differentiated from that of the South.
Truly a must see, no trip to India is complete without a visit to Agra.
