À propos du livre
The Flying Pig Gallery and Greenspace is hosting an exhibit that is both timely - because of the creative medium used - and fascinating - because of the quality of the images displayed. The world at our Fingertips features the work of 23 talented artists from around the world and from various walks of life. All use what amounts to an iPhone as their creative medium. Basically, they use their fingertip on a small computer screen. In addition to this “revolutionary” medium they’ve all met through Flickr, the social photo network, not in a cafe in Paris (though they’d like that, too). They interact constantly without ever meeting and in some cases not even speaking the same language. They encourage and challenge each other. With otherwise busy lives they’re still able to fit in an active life in art that includes both creative solitude and a support network without any preparation, or studio needs or clean-up. If they can find a few minutes or an hour, they’re at work.
The international artists were chosen by Wisconsin artist Susan Murtaugh. Each talented artist then chose three pieces of their own work to showcase their digital fingerpainting. Their words and pictures are included in this book.
