À propos du livre
This 230 page book, with many photographs, is a compilation of the blog of Liza Beinart, of Perth, Western Australia, who went as an NGO to work with AIDS orphaned and vulnerable children in Tabora, Tanzania, in 2007. She left a "perfectly good job, a perfectly good home, and a perfectly good social life" to live in the "wilds" of Africa. She had no intention of changing the world, but she did want to see what she'd be able to do in one little part of it. Her story is moving, passionate and at times heartwrenching as she settles into a new environment and culture where she learns to eat goat, speak Swahili, fend off mosquitoes and have children crawling all over her covering her with kisses.
Tales from Tabora was collated, edited and assembled by Liza's mother, Susan Storm, as a birthday present.
